Be ADA Ready

We got you. A MODIPHY expert will explain how easy it is.

Why It Matters

Your website should work for everyone. For state and local governments, the Department of Justice’s 2024 rule establishes web accessibility requirements based on WCAG 2.1 Level AA. For businesses and organizations, accessibility helps more people use your services and reduces avoidable barriers.

The Real FAQ's

What does the new ADA website rule mean for Clerks of Court?

The DOJ’s ADA Title II rule requires every Clerk of Court website and mobile app to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards. Clerks serving 50,000 or more residents must comply by April 26, 2027. Smaller jurisdictions and special districts must comply by April 26, 2028.

Does our Clerk website need to be completely rebuilt to meet accessibility requirements?

Usually, yes. Most Clerk of Court websites run on outdated platforms that weren’t built for WCAG 2.1 AA. A rebuild is the cleaner, safer, and more cost-effective path, because ADA compliance is built in from the ground up instead of patched on.

How does MODIPHY® work with i3 Verticals and our existing court systems?

MODIPHY® works alongside i3 Verticals as a website partner for Clerk of Court offices. Your court records, payment, and filing systems stay in place. MODIPHY® handles the accessible public-facing website, its design, and ongoing support.

What happens after our website is made accessible?

Accessibility needs ongoing upkeep as content changes. MODIPHY® provides continued Clerk of Court website support and updates to help keep your site ADA compliant long after launch.

Do PDFs, forms, and documents on our website need to be accessible too?

Yes. ADA Title II covers the PDFs, court forms, fee schedules, and documents on your Clerk of Court website. Anything residents use to file, request records, or pay fees must be accessible. Limited exceptions apply to some archived and older documents.

What if another company currently handles our website?

No problem. Clerk of Court website transitions are what we do. MODIPHY® copies your current site, rebuilds it for ADA compliance, and handles the switch without disruption. All we need is domain access and a point of contact.

Who handles website updates after the new site launches?

MODIPHY® does. Send us the change and our on-demand support team handles it. Your Clerk’s office never has to become its own web department.

How much work will this create for our Clerk’s office?

Very little. Clerk of Court websites are our specialty. MODIPHY® handles the move, rebuild, ADA accessibility work, launch, and ongoing support. Your office provides one point of contact.
