Project Overview
Ascension Parish Government is the local government for Ascension Parish, Louisiana, headquartered in Gonzales. Its website serves residents, businesses, job seekers and vendors across more than a dozen departments, from Planning & Development and Public Works to Animal Control, Utilities and Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness.
Modiphy redesigned the parish website to make a large amount of public information easier to find and use.
The Challenge
A parish government website has to serve thousands of people with very different needs, from checking a permit to finding a council meeting to reading an emergency notice. The previous site needed to be replaced with one that could organise many departments and services, surface urgent notices and connect residents to online services.
Our Solution
We rebuilt the site around departments and common tasks. It includes public notice banners, notification signup, site search, an events calendar, permits and inspections information, public records requests, the Citizen Service Portal, vendor and bid information, meeting agendas and minutes, maps, employment listings and council meeting videos.
The Result
Residents and businesses can now find services, read notices and complete common tasks online through a single, organised portal, without a phone call or office visit for routine requests.
