Project Overview
CanCare is a Houston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides one-on-one support to people affected by cancer and their caregivers. Founded by Anne Shaw Turnage, a survivor of metastatic colon cancer, CanCare matches people with more than 500 trained volunteers who are survivors and caregivers of more than 60 types of cancer.
Modiphy built a website that makes it easy for anyone facing cancer to ask for support and get matched with someone who has been there.
The Challenge
People reach out to CanCare at one of the hardest moments of their lives. The site needed to feel warm and reassuring, explain the different ways to get support, and make the first step, asking for help, as simple as possible.
Our Solution
We built a simple intake flow where visitors select their role, enter their email and complete a short form. The site explains one-on-one support by phone, text, email or in person, lists online support groups for caregivers, stage 4 patients and survivors, and covers hospital visits, healthcare referrals, resources, Spanish-language support, the blog, podcast, events and store.
The Result
People facing cancer can now request support in a few steps from anywhere in the country, and volunteers, donors and supporters have a clear way to get involved.
